Back in February, I had to take a trip out to NYC for the day job. Most of you are probably thinking this was a dream trip for me. Believe it or not, I’m really not a fan of big cities. Granted, I live and work in Atlanta, but I never have had an urge to go to NYC. Of course, this did mean that I got to go away for a week and focus on some music. This always produces some interesting results. In this case, it’s the New York EP: a 3 track EP with tracks named after places I had eaten at during the week.
Production wise, you’ll find these tracks to be a bit more on the melodic tech and progressive house side than usual. You might even say at least one is fairly deep as well. All three tracks were developed from the same set of drum loops that I constructed in my small hotel room that overlooked Chinatown. They’ve been teased out nicely in three totally different directions and scrutinized by some of the best tastemakers I know.
The EP has just been signed to PWM Records. I don’t have a release date for you all just yet, but I’ll let you know as soon as I have it. Until then, enjoy the artwork.
[...] Dave will provide you with a blend of mix of originals and maybe a few of his remixes. Expect to here several tracks from his upcoming release on PWM Records, The New York EP. [...]
