Tons of wheels are in motion these days from running  a label, planning the annual Afterhours Stage at the Cornerstone Music Festival, production work and of course my Freshbeats podcast. All of that hard work has been paying off slowly now for the past few months. Here’s a quick list of new releases and what nots:

Today, my latest release Explorer is out on MK837. Explorer is a massive tribal influenced tech house track. With Kevin Oneel, Deeflash and Harry Hotspur on for remixes, there should be something here for all. My House was releases yesterday as a Beatport.com exclusive. All three mixes are making their way up the Next Dimension Top Downloads chart.  The good people over at Releasepromo.com gave the release a 7.9/10 score and the release is being supported by RK2 Podcast, ProtonRadio.com, 1mixRadio(UK), Underground Radio, InsomniaFM, FriskyRadio, Beattunes, Pure FM, MCast, BeatAgency, Mistique Music, DeepSessions and others.

My House will be released by Next Dimension Music on February 22, 2010. It will run exclusively on Beatport for an 8 week stint before being released to the rest of the world. You can grab the promos now on Release Promo and My Promo Pool. And the first round of feedback has been great so far. As you can see below, it has an 8.0 average right now on Release Promos. I’ll post more feedback as I get it.

Over the past ten years most of you know that I’ve been writing electronic music on the site for fun and well… bus fare. I also run the largest and longest running community dedicated to Christians who love electronic dance music and four years ago I started to DJ, host a monthly podcast and run the club stage at the Cornerstone Music Festival. I’ve been pretty busy. Needless to say, there’s always been something driving me to do a bit more.

In 2005, Joseph Mercado of Next Dimension Music told me that I needed to start a label. I blew the idea off for the next 4 years. During this time, I met Kevin Oneel of Boost FM and we forged a deep, like-minded friendship and actually have been partners in running the stage at Cornerstone now for three years.  He and I had kicked around the idea before, but for some reason we got more serious about it this past April. June came and we talked a bit more about it at Cornerstone and I literally dropped the idea and ran scared afterwards. In came Chris Reiche a few months later with some really good tracks that didn’t really fit with any label he was looking at. Being honest with myself, I had the same issue. The two of us ran back as fast as we could to Kevin and mk837 was born.

So… mk837, what is it? First, it’s pronounced Mark 8 37. I’m sure most of you are going to look that up right away. We’re going to do our best to provide fans and DJs with top quality music. Generic I know. More specifically, we’re going to release a combination of house and breaks along the tech, tribal and progressive lines.

I honestly had noticed this a while back… as in years ago, but I didn’t realize the impact of it until now. There’s this podcast called Podrunner that has been going on for several years now. It’s mixed and produced by DJ Steve Boyett. It’s a podcast that focuses on providing workout music to… well whoever. Over the course of the past few years, some of my tracks off Next Dimension Music have been featured on his show. The most recent appearance was August 14, 2009 and featured my track Discount Bin.

I guess what shocks me most about this is that today, the Podrunner podcast is the ninth most popular music podcast on all of iTunes. It’s ranked above Armin, Above & Beyond and Oakenfold’s podcasts in popularity.  Here’s a link for you if you would like to subscribe to Podrunner.

It’s a small victory, but I’m very happy with it none the less. My House is currently #10 for Next Dimension’s top sellers at Beatport. So while not stellar positioning, it’s still great news. I also see that my buddies Dima and Van Lazarux are both higher up on that same food chain. Good for them.

Also on this comp is my buddy Dima. If you haven’t heard his work before, you’ll be in for a treat. This hot, young Russian import knows his progressive house and knows how to keep it deep and flowing.
